Do I need a referral to schedule an appointment ?
Referral requirements typically depend on your specific health insurance provider. While some major insurance plans allow you to book directly with a specialist, others require a formal referral from your primary care physician (PCP). It is highly recommended to call the clinic at (832) 821-5550 or contact your insurance company to confirm your benefits before booking.
What should I bring to my first appointment ?
To ensure Dr. Menga can build a comprehensive and accurate care plan, please bring the following to your initial visit:
A copy of your completed New Patient Forms (available on the clinic portal).
A valid ID and your current health insurance card.
Any recent, relevant medical records, lab results, or imaging (X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds).
A complete list of your current medications and dosages.
Are laboratory services handled on-site ?
Rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions require precise diagnostic monitoring. The clinic will coordinate your necessary blood work and laboratory panels. Dr. Menga will review these results to track your condition’s progression, evaluate medication safety, and adjust your treatment plan accordingly.
What can I expect during an infusion therapy session ?
Prime Rheumatology Clinic offers advanced, on-site infusion therapies for complex rheumatic conditions and osteoporosis. Infusion appointments are conducted in a comfortable medical setting monitored by trained clinical staff. You will be advised on how to prepare for your specific medication (such as staying hydrated) prior to your arrival.
How do I handle refills or questions about my prescriptions ?
For routine prescription refills, please have your pharmacy submit an electronic request directly to the clinic. If you experience unexpected side effects, have questions about a new biologic or immunosuppressive drug, or need clarity on your treatment plan, contact the clinic via the Patient Portal or call the office line.
How often will I need to see the rheumatologist ?
Follow-up frequency is entirely personalized based on your diagnosis and disease activity:
Active Flares / New Treatments: Patients starting a new medication or managing active symptoms (such as acute lupus or rheumatoid arthritis flares) may need to be seen every few weeks to months.
Stable / Chronic Conditions: Once your condition is well-managed and stable, routine check-ins may transition to every 3 to 6 months for monitoring and maintenance.
